Ghana 2019 Brigade

"I came into this association without any expectation about what this year would turn out to be, but I believed in the concept and values that GBB proposed.

I am often asked what does GBB do. My answer before our brigade was that we raise money and organize various workshops during the year in order to fund and prepare for our brigade in April. I was met most of the time by sceptic faces. Personally, I wasn’t sure of how much we would be able to help these entrepreneurs who expected so much from us in a week of engagement. Once I completed my first brigade, my answer to that same question is that through GB I experienced the most enriching and emotion packed week of my life.

After months of work and preparation I was on the plane from Linate with 12 other Team Members I hardly knew outside workshops and events with whom I was going to spend a week in a foreign country, on a continent I had never stepped on. My doubts and fears faded away at that moment when I realized that all was going to be ok as we all had one goal which was to do good in a foreign community in need of assistance. In Ghana I found people who had little to nothing, who gave us everything and more. During that week I also realized how important and crucial is the work that GB is doing for this community. All in all, I worked with GBB Milan for the past 7 months, through the highs of gratitude received and lows of challenges faced, I experienced some of the most impactful moments of my life and If I have the chance I would do it all over again."
